In a Nutshell

Pronouns: they/them

I am a licensed clinical psychologist who helps improve people's lives by helping them heal from emotional wounds, interpersonal injuries, and difficult life adjustments. I work with those who want to understand themselves more fully and explore the parts of their lives and histories that still carry weight.

My work is rooted in psychodynamic, psychoanalytic, relational, feminist, and culturally-responsive approaches. I bring both clinical depth and lived experience to the work, creating a space that’s thoughtful, steady, and non-judgmental - particularly for those in BIPOC, Queer, and/or immigrant communities . I know what it’s like to exist in multiple worlds, to carry unspoken expectations, and to wonder if it’s safe to be fully seen.

At the heart of my work is a belief in the profound capacity of relationships to heal, transform, and support meaningful growth.

Rooted in Lived Experience

I understand what it is like to go through huge life changes and face barriers because I have lived them. I know the sudden shock of stepping into a new environment where people see you differently. Moving across the world and abruptly becoming a minority showed me what it means to feel out of place. I also spent my life navigating my own queerness and non-binary identity.

Whether you mask your true self to survive a corporate job in Manhattan, balance the heavy expectations of a first generation household, or feel like you operate on the wrong system, I get it. I bring this lived perspective directly into our work.

My personal motto is to try everything once. Whether I’m diving into complex home networking systems or mastering dishes from across the globe, I am always driven to understand how different elements come together to create something incredible.

When I was younger, I dreamt of reading every single book in the world. The idea of building my own library full of stories, myths, tales, and experiences captivated me. In many ways, my work as a psychologist is a continuation of that dream. It is a profound privilege to traverse the wide expanse of the human condition and hear your story.

I bring this curiosity and focus directly into our sessions. I want to know what it feels like when you are sitting at a family dinner in Queens trying to keep the peace. I want to understand the knot in your stomach when you have to decide whether to bring your authentic, queer self to a holiday gathering or shrink yourself just to get through the weekend. I want to know what goes through your mind when you are staring at your laptop late at night, paralyzed by burnout. And I want to understand what it is like to sit in a meeting, meticulously tracking every social cue just to seem "normal" until your energy is completely drained.

Together, we will explore your relationships - to yourself, to others, and to the world, your stories and experiences, and the institutions & systems you live in.

Clinical Practice

Empathy builds trust, and effective care requires real expertise. I have spent over 13 years providing psychological services in schools, community health programs, hospitals, university clinics, and assessment offices. I am licensed in New York, Pennsylvania, and New Jersey. I work exclusively with older teens and adults in private practice.

In addition to my clinical work, I’ve spent years studying psychoanalytic and psychodynamic theory, with a particular interest in how early relationships, identity, and culture shape the way we understand ourselves and move through the world.

What It’s Like to Work with Me

All too often in our lives, we do not feel seen, heard, or understood by others. Others that are close to us see us through the lens of who we are to them, which is not always an accurate reflection of who we really are. A psychologist can be a more attuned listener because they are interested in and curious about what it is that you think, feel and want. When people feel understood, interesting things can happen - they are better able to feel connected with themselves and their emotions, can create healthier relationships and live more meaningful, satisfying lives.

My approach is exploratory, designed to help you explore possibilities, gain new insights and be empowered to take control of your own life. I work collaboratively with you to think through decisions as you navigate life’s challenges but I believe that you are the best judge of what choices are right for you and your life. Our sessions will be dialogue driven; you can talk about any area of your life or say whatever comes to your mind, even if it doesn’t seem relevant.

Psychoanalysis and psychodynamic therapy is more open-ended. Real, lasting change doesn’t happen overnight. We have thought and behavior patterns deeply engrained in us that are reinforced over our lifetime. It can take time and consistency to get the results you want. That being said, you don’t have to spend your life in therapy. The amount of time and effort you want to put into therapy is a personal choice and varies widely from person to person.

I specialize in working with adults in the LGBTQIA+ and BIPOC communities, as well as first-generation and immigrant populations. We work together to process complex trauma or seek clarity through psychological assessment and evaluation. Whatever path we take, I will always honor the real, everyday context of your life.
