FAQ

  • Please email us at drtriciaswang@gmail.com to schedule an appointment.

  • Tricia Wang PhD Psychology provides secure sessions virtually via telehealth (video or phone).

  • We see patients for 45-50 minute sessions once a week, at minimum. So much can be felt and experienced over the course of the week, so a weekly frequency supports the quality and continuity of care. This also helps the healing process happen more quickly and consistently than sessions that are farther apart. Many of the skills and insights discussed in therapy also take practice, repetition, and fine-tuning. Weekly therapy aids this process and momentum greatly.

Depending on certain circumstances or periods of life, twice-a-week frequency may be recommended for additional support.

  • There is no definitive answer to this question. It depends on your needs, goals, and preferences.

Some people come to therapy for overall well-being and as an additional pillar of support in life, while others seek help because they are stuck in a situation or are going through a great deal of stress & difficulty.

Still other folks come to therapy and their needs & goals evolve as they do. There is no single correct answer but we can collaborate together to help you make the best choice for yourself.

    1. Deductible : The amount you pay before the insurance company starts to contribute.

Your deductible amount can range from $0 to $8,000 or more, regardless if you are in-network or out-of-network.

    2. "Allowed" amount : The cost of therapy that your insurance company uses to calculate your co-insurance.

    3. Co-insurance : The percent of the "allowed" amount that you are responsible to pay plus whatever amount is more than the allowed amount. For example, let’s say that I charge $250 and the insurance company thinks I should charge $100. If your co-insurance is 20%, then you have to pay $20 + $150 = $170.

    4. Out-of-Pocket Maximum : This is the total amount of money you spend in out-of-network expenses through deductible and coinsurance in a given year after which the insurance company covers 100% of the “Allowed” amount. You may still be responsible for any difference between my rate and the allowed amount. xt goes here

  • If you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment, please do so at least 48-hours before your appointment.

Appointments cancelled or missed without 48-hours notice for any reason, including illness and emergency, will be charged a cancellation fee equal to the full session rate.

Insurance does not cover no-shows and late cancellations. This fee is different from your co-pay, and is not billable to your insurance.
